Alice MUMFORD

Alice MUMFORD

Born in Columbia, Alice lives and works in Penwith (2010) as she has done for some years. She studied at Dartington Hall in Devon, Southwark College of Arts & Design, Camberwell School of Art, and also at Falmouth College of Art. Known especially for her still lifes in piercingly vivid colour, both cool and hot simultaneously, she also teaches with the St Ives School of Painting.

She has exhibited widely, both in London and locally, and one of her solo shows ran at Badcock's Gallery, Newlyn prior to its closure. Entitled 'Colour Blast', the Cornishman's review led with the banner, 'Vivid colours will blow your mind', featuring a photo likeness of Alice in front of her painting Blue Square (What's on, Cornishman, 14 Oct 2010).  Her mother is the watercolourist Janet TRELOAR.
