Born in South Africa, Helen Hoyle came to the UK in her mid-twenties and settled in Cornwall in 1993. In 2010 she graduated from Plymouth University with a BA (Hons) in Art History. Two years later a printmaking course with Rachael KANTARIS at Newlyn School of Art sparked a fascination for monoprinting - a process which she loves, both for its unpredictability and the fact that the image which results is unique, and cannot be replicated. She has also had tuition in drawing and acrylics from the well respected mid-Cornwall artist Yvette WILTSHIRE.
In 2016 Helen became a member of Taking Space. She is a regular exhibitor at STISA open shows.
She has written extensively about women artists in Cornwall (see link below). Since 2011 Helen has been part of the CAI editorial team.
