Born in Lambeth, London he studied at the Leeds College of Art. After an original career in educational publishing, he and his wife Anne moved to Cornwall in 1996 to continue painting full-time. Locally, his work (paintings of people on the beaches and mainly in holiday mood) was shown at the Waterside Gallery, St Ives (2010).
