Sonia Barton was born in Cornwall. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Staffordshire University. This was followed by a postgraduate diploma in Fine Art Printmaking at Brighton University.

She exhibits regularly throughout the UK and her work is in collections in Europe, USA, Australia and Hong Kong.
